When the lights go down in the city...
I am in one of my very favorite towns. Steven surprised me with a weekend trip to San Francisco! We've been here for a couple of days and, sadly, leave tomorrow. One of the other reasons why this trip is so great is that I have been so busy lately that I feel like I have hardly seen Steven in the last month. I finally go to bed and he's already asleep and then we rush out in the mornings. When we're both home and awake, we're dealing with our kids. The holiday season is always like this so being able to steal away for a few days and just hang out has been very, very cool. So, what have we been doing? We've been walking (ALOT! I love it!), eating, sleeping, drinking coffee, shopping and seeing a few of my friends who live here.
SF has great coffee shops...

Check out our amazing view! How can you NOT love this incredible place?

On our first night we walked from Nob Hill through Chinatown and down to North Beach. We went through the financial district and finally down to Union Square and back up to Nob Hill where we're staying. Steven got a kick out of the stretch of Columbus Ave. where the strip clubs are. It's pretty funny- great flashy signs, lots of neon and light bulbs) and hilarious names for the clubs.

We ate at my favorite Chinese food place. The food is an incredible, creative blend of flavors and a they have a special hot tea with all kinds of stuff in it (flowers, leaves, etc). It's fantastic!

And finally we made our way back to the hotel to be greeted again by our awesome view.

so glad you're having fun! love, love, love, house of nanking! we were in SF for a week in 1994. we hate at HON 2 or 3 times. The last night we were there, Steve brought it back to our room (a B&B in Nobhill) so we could watch the OJ Simpson car chase.
We still eat there every visit!
